Getting Started with Atlyn Visuals

Follow these steps to get up and running with Atlyn custom visuals for Power BI.

Create an Account

Sign in with your Microsoft account to create your Atlyn storefront account and manage subscriptions, eligible downloads, and any legacy license keys.

Tip: Website sign-in is separate from using an installed visual. The eight additional all-access visuals listed below do not check your Power BI identity or require matching author and storefront accounts at runtime.

Choose Storefront Access

All-access remains $14.99/month or $149/year and includes released catalog visuals. Heatmap, Pareto, Network, Financial Matrix, Overlap Explorer, Marimekko, Resource Capacity, and Process Lens are staged to join all-access as released, with no added charge or separate purchase. These catalog entries do not mean that the eight packages are already downloadable, AppSource-listed, or Power BI certified. Existing standalone offerings are unchanged.

Your account's first eligible subscription in each Stripe billing mode (live or test) includes a 30-day free trial, not a new trial for each product. A payment method is required, but billing starts only after the trial unless you cancel beforehand.

Tip: Already have an active or trialing all-access subscription? You do not need another checkout or new license keys for the eight additional visuals when they are released.

Download the Visual

Downloads are on each catalog product's detail page. Open the catalog at /products directly, or choose Browse or Download Visuals from dashboard Overview. Select an available product, choose Get download link, then Download .pbiviz using your eligible storefront access.

The .pbiviz file is the Power BI custom visual package you'll import into your reports. The eight staged products will become downloadable only after their releases are approved and published.

For the eight additional visuals, the existing Atlyn storefront/customer terms provide the separate end-user authority to acquire released packages and use them as an author during an active paid or trialing all-access subscription. Do not rely solely on an included first-party license: some packages contain reserved-rights notices and others have no first-party license file. Their first-party source remains proprietary. Older product terms and all applicable MIT, other open-source, and third-party license rights remain unchanged.

Install in Power BI

Open Power BI Desktop and import the visual:

  1. Go to the Visualizations pane
  2. Click the ... (ellipsis) menu
  3. Select Import a visual from a file
  4. Choose the downloaded .pbiviz file

The visual will appear in your Visualizations pane, ready to use.

Follow Your Package's Setup Instructions

The eight additional all-access visuals need no license key or activation. They are technically ungated once installed, with no author identity checks, licensing calls, subscription-based feature gates, telemetry, or external requests. With your active paid or trial author grant under Atlyn customer terms, skip directly to building your report. Ungated does not mean unrestricted or perpetual use permission.

Older visuals retain their existing setup and runtime behavior; not all need keys. Only if your older package's instructions require a key:

  1. Select the visual on your report canvas
  2. Open the Format pane
  3. Expand the License section
  4. Paste your license key as directed by that package's instructions
Tip: Existing keys are in your Atlyn dashboard under Licenses. The eight additional products do not require new keys or a key backfill.

Start Building Reports

You're all set! Drag data fields onto the visual and start building beautiful, interactive reports. Explore the Format pane for customization options like themes, colors, and layout settings.

For the eight additional all-access visuals, customer terms authorize author use during an active paid or trial subscription, and shared-report viewers may view those reports without a separate Atlyn subscription. The packages do not enforce author or viewer identity. Your organization's Power BI sharing permissions and Microsoft licensing still apply.

If you cancel, eligible downloads and the subscription-based author grant continue through the current subscribed period. At expiry, that grant ends unless further use is separately authorized under applicable customer terms. These eight packages do not technically deactivate, change features, or disable shared reports or static exports; continued operation does not extend author-use permission. Shared-report viewing remains permitted without a separate Atlyn subscription under the customer terms. Older terms, package behavior, copyright, and applicable license rights remain unchanged.
